Olive Twist, established in 2007 is a professional, upmarket catering business, with an intensely passionate happy team working together daily to bring delicate, complex flavours and wonderful food experiences to corporate and private clients all around KZN. We have had the pleasure of working on some phenomenal jobs and welcome any challenge or brief that comes our way, whether it be a 5 course private dinner party for an intimate family celebration or canapés & cocktails for 1000 corporates at an awards evening.
Over the years our journey has taken us to unique destinations, creative zones & challenging locations all over KZN, which has helped us understand, love and grow with our province and the times. From the rustic Umtamvuna river on the Transkei border to the beating heart of an Umlazi township, from colonial farms in Notties to working farms surrounded by sugar cane. From the old Fort Road museum to retro penthouses on Durban’s art deco beachfront block. Hamburg tanker launch in Durbans docks, pre-dinner at Zimbali for soccer world cup team announcements.
We have served and cooked up storms working out of a caravan kitchen, makeshift mobile setups in torrential natal rain, chaotic Durban July kitchen marquees ,vast warehouses, our delivery van, interactive stations, the finest kitchens in durbans elite homes to the backstage of school halls. We love the venue challenge and the uniqueness that this lends the event and to the development of our menus when we know where we are cooking from and what our client wants.
Chic sheebeen chow at the DUC year end party to Kwamashu arts centre with interactive food stations showcasing KZN’s unique flavours. Working with Food Matters @ the IPL cricket, with Zak and Tonic @ Durbans Secret eats popup dinner, the Aleit Group on a lavish Moroccan themed wedding at an iconic Durban florida road location, with Wedding Concepts for South African dignitaries (the president and the king) at The Zunguness venue in the midlands. We’ve showcased Durban’s Parmalat/ Simonsberg and won them best food stand at food shows and then worked with the amazing Dube Agrizone produce at the Design party and catered the launch for Dube tradeport.
Olive Twist has welcomed internationals and taken them under our wing-emergency pop- up catering and bar for CNN, internationally inspired menus for Standard Bank over soccer world cup and catering to the Siemens dome at COP17. A Swedish wedding in the tea garden of St Thomas church. A British/ Zimbabwean wedding (and therefore menu) at Linton Hall South Coast.
We take great pride in looking after our corporates on the ridge with freshly made lunches served to them every day. These meals are engineered for every season and we endeavour to make lunch a highlight of their day.
Our adventure continues as we journey to unique locations, people’s homes and beautiful venues around KZN making people happy through their experience of our food, the creativity and passion in our menus provided to them and look forward to sharing 2015 with old and clients.
